They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Casimiro Rolado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Hegoi having to interfere. Nestor Eufemio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hernan Hegoi having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Tadeo Urki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hernan Hegoi. That made the score 1-5 in the 69 minute of play. If Teofilo Flores had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Glorioso Newell´s's Hernan Hegoi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Glorioso Newell´s from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the match, Glorioso Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeo Urki came free, but Hernan Hegoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 84th minute, but Hernan Hegoi got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Glorioso Newell´s hanging dry this time. When Casimiro Rolado came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the gerli ac fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Casimiro Rolado couldn't finish the play. Nestor Eufemio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernan Hegoi having to interfere. Godofredo Lander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. gerli ac's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
