Ivan Firmin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Filomeno Ferran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Maximo Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filomeno Ferran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Firmin in the 12th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Maximo Beltza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Ferran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Acevedo's Maximo Beltza got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Mauro Gonzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Gonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Venerando in the 30th minute of play forced Acevedo's goalkeeper Laureano Phelipe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filomeno Ferran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Firmin, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Silvano Salbatore fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acevedo's protests and gave Silvano Salbatore a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Borussian Tatu booed when Acevedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Salbatore didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Gonzo in the 90th minute of play forced Acevedo's goalkeeper Laureano Phelipe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
