With a little luck, Cabildo's Anacleto Laurin got control of the ball when Mauro Gonzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Cabildo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Emenon to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Cabildo getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. In the 36th minute, Marcelo Venerando got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute Genaro Goizeder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Ferran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro Gonzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cabildo's Andres Ioritz suffered a concussion in the 44th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. In the 45th minute, Lino Cordearo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Genaro Goizeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some careless play in the Borussian Tatu defense, Amado Emenon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filomeno Ferran. The Borussian Tatu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filomeno Ferran should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Benito Ponc charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Horacio Joachim's late challenge caught a Cabildo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
