The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th match minute, C.A. Natalio Iago showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Leoiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Raul Socorro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albino Cloyo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Evelio Abeitia firmly grabbed it by the left post. Marco Peter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Natalio Iago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carolo Txatxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rigoberto Cristos hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Octavio Leoiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Verdinegro SJ's supporters rose to their feet, but Octavio Leoiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Iago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Peter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Iago having to interfere. Carolo Txatxu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Evelio Abeitia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Octavio Leoiar was the one to do the kick off. Toro's Rafael Iraunkor took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Evelio Abeitia and thus the score was 1-0. Natalio Iago made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Marco Peter sent off a good shot on target. Albino Cloyo's late challenge caught a C.A. Verdinegro SJ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albino Cloyo helped the player get up and apologised. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Toro's zone, Marco Peter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natalio Iago came out of the goal and Marco Peter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 1-1 became the score in the 77th minute when Marco Peter elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, C.A. Toro's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Peter came free, but Natalio Iago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavio Leoiar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Octavio Leoiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th match minute, C.A. Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Iraunkor to maneuver through the defense. The C.A. Verdinegro SJ fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when C.A. Verdinegro SJ's Marco Peter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Carolo Txatxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evelio Abeitia having to interfere.
