After 33 played minutes, Pearson AFC's Leonides Estevez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hilario Cordero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pearson AFC reached it. Candido Brun scored 0-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hilario Cordero, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Humberto Etxeberri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 49 minutes into the match, Candido Brun notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Huracan Malbec's Hilario Cordero. Hilario Cordero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
