But to his dismay, Rodolfo Iago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilfredo Egun in the 19th minute of play forced SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA's goalkeeper Fabio Napier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The River Pasion fans' excitement grew in the 21st match minute when River Pasion's Rodolfo Iago looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Remigio Rius struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Efrain Ostadar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA. SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA's Lucas Ramos couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. River Pasion's Efrain Ostadar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoriano Lucero in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Victoriano Lucero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Efrain Ostadar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 40 minutes, Bruno Meder mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA and the River Pasion players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 41 played minutes SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Meder.

The supporters of River Pasion booed when SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. The River Pasion supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA's performance. The match ended with a win for SAN MARTIN DE MENDOZA.
