Mariano Semeno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Urdaspal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute, Lisandro Pepillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lisandro Pepillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pascual Baumer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodosio Sabino in the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Lisandro Pepillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores del Acha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Pepillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 43 minutes into the match, Gavilandia's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Urdaspal came free, but Mariano Semeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lisandro Pepillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teodosio Sabino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariano Semeno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Urdaspal in the 52nd minute of play. Roberto Conrao kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The supporters of Defensores del Acha booed when Gavilandia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roberto Conrao didn't get a good kick on the ball.
