The nice shot from Cristian Roano in the 5thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Anacleto Otsoa had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. After a rather tough play, Atenas's Damaso Batista got a free kick in the 6th minute. Cristian Roanos short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Anacleto Otsoa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Tobias Eliu fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rapelli's protests and gave Tobias Eliu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rapelli getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Tobias Eliu hit a great ball. German Cresenciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Vito in the 25th minute of the match. After 26 minutes, Francisco Austin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atenas and the Rapelli players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rapelli booed when Atenas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Austin didn't get a good kick on the ball. German Cresenciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Austin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rapelli's German Cresenciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Austin in the 30th minute of play. Francisco Austin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd match minute, Rapelli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Barea to maneuver through the defense. Emilio Vito struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. German Cresenciano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atenas. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luciano Nicholas to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Atenas got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Olando. Francisco Austin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Cresenciano having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Atenas's Emilio Vito slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of German Cresenciano. That made the score 0-1 after 64 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Rapelli's zone, Emilio Vito stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. German Cresenciano came out of the goal and Emilio Vito tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute, Francisco Austin made a precise shot to the right of German Cresenciano. Rapelli's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. When Francisco Austin came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Atenas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Austin couldn't finish the play. 80 minutes into the match, Rapelli's goalkeeper German Cresenciano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Austin. Conrado Barea hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. German Cresenciano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Vito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Vito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. German Cresenciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rapelli's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Emilio Vito scored to the left of an out of position German Cresenciano, making the score, 0-3. The Atenas fans' excitement grew in the 95th match minute when Atenas's Francisco Austin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
