In the 37th minute Radu Arieșan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Mendebal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Eustacio Gergori ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severino Mendebal was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Victorio Herauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Orixe in the 42nd minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eustacio Gergori stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Radu Arieșan came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Chimuelo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Radu Arieșan couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Oscar Goiano in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severino Mendebal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Eustacio Gergori blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severino Mendebal having to make a save. Severino Mendebal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Arieșan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Chimuelo FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Raimundo Eneto hit a great ball. Victorio Herauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnoldo Francesco in the 69th minute of play. In the 75th minute Armando Bastiaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Herauso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chimuelo FC booed when West Ham United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benigno Arnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chimuelo FC made a substitution. Filomeno Ibar replaced Eustacio Gergori. After 78 played minutes West Ham United got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Arnas. 84 minutes into the game, West Ham United's Amancio Orixe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victorio Herauso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
