Spectators: 7232 (Terracing: 5426, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. If Genaro Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 8 minutes, Benito Oriol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Providencia AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Benito Oriol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nunez Vincent didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Genaro Ticho went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Herminio Cesario hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Nunez Vincent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Ticho, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Genaro Ticho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Vincent having to interfere. Hernan Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Nunez Vincent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernan Checa struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Nunez Vincent didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Providencia AFC. Nunez Vincent showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Checa, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Nunez Vincent showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Checa in the 39th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Hernan Checa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernan Checa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Providencia AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The attack was good, but when Herminio Cesario in the 53rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Hernan Checa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciriaco Firman charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ciriaco Firman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Changos getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ciriaco Firman hit a great ball. Hernan Checa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nunez Vincent having to interfere. Hernan Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Nunez Vincent tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernan Checas short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Nunez Vincent to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 74 minutes into the match, Hernan Checa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nunez Vincent. Changos 's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hernan Checa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Baltasar Iraitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Roldan in the 92nd minute of play. After 94 minutes, Herminio Cesario mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Changos and the Providencia AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Changos 's goalkeeper Nunez Vincent, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
