The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Genaro Ticho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute, Fausto Isias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Ticho in the 16th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Timoteo Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernan Checa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hernan Checa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Hernan Checa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Providencia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hernan Checa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timoteo Rito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hernan Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Timoteo Rito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Genaro Ticho, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 40 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Timoteo Rito was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. When Hernan Checa came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Providencia AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernan Checa couldn't finish the play. When Genaro Ticho got free in front of the goal in the 42nd minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Timoteo Rito was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 45th minute Genaro Ticho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timoteo Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timoteo Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Ticho in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Providencia AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Timoteo Rito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Ticho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the game, Hernan Checa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Timoteo Rito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 68 minutes, Genaro Ticho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Providencia AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Ticho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Timoteo Rito managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when Providencia AFC's Hernan Checa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 74 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Timoteo Rito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hernan Checa. Timoteo Rito came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Providencia AFC's Genaro Ticho. But to his dismay, Genaro Ticho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Timoteo Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Genaro Ticho, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. If Hernan Checa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernan Checa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Timoteo Rito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Borussia Dortmund's Timoteo Rito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Ticho in the 90th minute of play. Providencia AFC's Hernan Checa got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Genaro Ticho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Providencia AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
