In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Borussia Dortmund's goalkeeper Timoteo Rito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 28 minutes, Abel Fagondo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Siján's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Fagondo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelino Telo during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Telo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abel Fagondo in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Timoteo Rito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Timoteo Rito made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anier Txilar in the 42nd minute. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund's Timoteo Rito got control of the ball when Anier Txilar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anier Txilar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Timoteo Rito made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Primitivo Peruanton made the kick off in the second half. Paulino Caradaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund's zone, Anier Txilar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Timoteo Rito came out of the goal and Anier Txilar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Anier Txilar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Borussia Dortmund's Santo Jerano got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 67th minute, Fausto Isias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Siján's Anier Txilar got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Borussia Dortmund was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelino Telo to maneuver through the defense. The attack was good, but when Anier Txilar in the 75th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Anier Txilar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Timoteo Rito having to make a save. The supporters of Siján booed when Borussia Dortmund was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Santo Jerano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anier Txilar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alejo Milian hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Borussia Dortmund's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Amador Goizeder in the 89th minute. Amador Goizeder made a great header on Borussia Dortmund's corner, it was just that Siján's Narciso Ciano managed to reach the ball for a save. Abel Fagondo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Timoteo Rito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 94 minutes, Anier Txilar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Siján's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anier Txilar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Fagondo came free, but Timoteo Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Borussia Dortmund succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Siján had controlled the match.
