Wilfredo Caitano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rolando Cordara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alonzo Barrionuevo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolando Cordara in the 11th minute. Ranquilcó's Rolando Cordara got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilfredo Caitano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lázaro Gaztea's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. When Jairo Federigo fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ranquilcó's protests and gave Jairo Federigo a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ranquilcó! If Higinio Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Higinio Astudillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilfredo Caitano having to interfere. When Deportivo Larsenal's Lázaro Gaztea in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ranquilcó's goalie prevented a goal. Rolando Cordara's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Alonzo Barrionuevo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Blas Illan was the one to do the kick off. When Higinio Astudillo came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Deportivo Larsenal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Higinio Astudillo couldn't finish the play. Wilfredo Caitano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lázaro Gaztea, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Higinio Astudillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 61 minutes, Blas Illan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ranquilcó's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blas Illan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lázaro Gaztea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliberto Leheren's late challenge caught a Deportivo Larsenal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Feliberto Leheren helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Ranquilcó's Feliberto Leheren got a free kick in the 70th minute. With a little luck, Ranquilcó's Wilfredo Caitano got control of the ball when Higinio Astudillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Deportivo Larsenal's Alonzo Barrionuevo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Illan in the 77th minute of play. After 89 minutes, Benedicto Cucao mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Larsenal and the Ranquilcó players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Rolando Cordara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alonzo Barrionuevo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Lázaro Gaztea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Wilfredo Caitano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
