Conrado Salbatore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celestino Martxot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Sanford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guido Cisco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Libertadores de S.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sanford were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Conrado Salbatore to strike the kick off in the second half. Guido Cisco hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Libertadores de S.C's Bruno Ilixo got a free kick in the 52nd minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Conrado Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrado Salbatore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conrado Salbatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guido Cisco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ubaldo Lluques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Celestino Martxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Salbatore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ubaldo Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes, Ismael George mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Libertadores de S.C and the Sanford players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ismael George hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Sanford's Placido Errapel tried to score from far away in the 67th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute Ubaldo Lluques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Martxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Conrado Salbatore in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celestino Martxot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ubaldo Lluques received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Celestino Martxot came out and tried to block the shot, but Ubaldo Lluques slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 73rd minute. In the 79th minute, Donato Darien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 81 minutes of play, Sanford's Conrado Salbatore made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celestino Martxot was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 84th minute Ubaldo Lluques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Martxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Conrado Salbatore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celestino Martxot was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Conrado Salbatore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Conrado Salbatore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Celestino Martxot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruno Ilixo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Sanford's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
