In the 21st minute Donato Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Mel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Libertadores de S.C got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Luar. After recieving a nice pass, Sanford's Placido Errapel tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Libertadores de S.C's Bruno Ilixo got a free kick in the 34th minute. Conrado Salbatore succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 40th playminute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Ferrer in the 45th minute of play forced Sanford's goalkeeper Gonzalo Mel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Celestino Martxot successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donato Vidal to make the kick off. Conrado Salbatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute Conrado Salbatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celestino Martxot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Salbatore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 57 minutes of play Libertadores de S.C's Mauro Luar was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Sanford's Guido Cisco got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Libertadores de S.C's zone, Conrado Salbatore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celestino Martxot came out of the goal and Conrado Salbatore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Conrado Salbatore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celestino Martxot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The supporters of Sanford booed when Libertadores de S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Ferrer didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ubaldo Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Conrado Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sanford's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrado Salbatore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celestino Martxot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Libertadores de S.C's zone, Guido Cisco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Conrado Salbatore put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Celestino Martxot. Celestino Martxot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Salbatore in the 87th minute of play. Conrado Salbatore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Celestino Martxot having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Lluques in the 93rd minute of play forced Libertadores de S.C's goalkeeper Celestino Martxot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Guido Cisco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Conrado Salbatore made a precise shot to the right of Celestino Martxot. Libertadores de S.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0.
