Eustaquio Pedroso might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Ponce. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eustaquio Pedroso ran back to his position shaking his head. Agustin Olo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Ponce having to make a save. Eustaquio Pedroso struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Joaquin Ponce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arteaga. In the 28th minute, Mariano Carlomagno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquin Ponce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Pedroso in the 32nd minute of the match. If Lázaro Gaxan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Epifanio Txatxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Lucila, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Bernardo Lucila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Txatxu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Joaquin Ponce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustin Olo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Mauricio Celipe charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Eustaquio Pedroso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of NEUQUÉN ATL booed when Arteaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauricio Celipe didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Lázaro Gaxan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Epifanio Txatxu. Lázaro Gaxan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. When Hilario Etxeberri fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Arteaga's protests and gave Hilario Etxeberri a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 84 in the game by Bernardo Lucila from a close distance when the talented Epifanio Txatxu managed to make a qualified save. Arteaga's players were relieved. Eustaquio Pedroso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Joaquin Ponce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
