The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Angelo Galoer's late challenge caught a Sanford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The audience was convinced that Conrado Salbatore's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lisandro Calvet was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. The Sanford fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Sanford's Conrado Salbatore looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lisandro Calvet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Salbatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 19 in the game by Siro Jacob from a close distance when the talented Gonzalo Mel managed to make a qualified save. Sanford's players were relieved. Delmiro Ongile hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 26th minute, Conrado Salbatore ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lisandro Calvet was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Lisandro Calvet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Salbatore, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Siro Jacob fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Mel having to interfere. But to his dismay, Conrado Salbatore quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Covello FC's Lisandro Calvet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Conrado Salbatore in the 40th minute of play. Conrado Salbatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Calvet having to interfere. Conrado Salbatore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lisandro Calvet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Sanford getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Placido Errapel hit a great ball. The Covello FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sanford were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Conrado Salbatore made a kick off. Lisandro Calvet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Salbatore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sanford's Ubaldo Lluques got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sanford's Gonzalo Mel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Firme in the 57th minute of play. If Ubaldo Lluques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th match minute, Covello FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Tavio to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Galoer hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Conrado Salbatore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lisandro Calvet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. If Victorino Leguizamón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes of play, Sanford's Conrado Salbatore made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lisandro Calvet was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ubaldo Lluques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lisandro Calvet having to interfere. Federico Tavio charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Federico Tavio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 75th match minute, Covello FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Tavio to maneuver through the defense. Sanford's Guido Cisco quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sixto Veto, made in the 80th minute of the game. Placido Errapel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Lisandro Calvet was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. 90 minutes into the game, Conrado Salbatore cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. Lisandro Calvet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 96th minute Ubaldo Lluques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lisandro Calvet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Sanford could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Covello FC throughout the match.
