Ortigol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Erlantz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Cirilo Porfiro lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Edelmiro Hurko. 28 minutes into the game, Bernardo Orixe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. E.T.D.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ortigol the free kick. A collision led to E.T.D. getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Bernardo Orixe hit a great ball. The supporters of E.T.D. booed when Ortigol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Porfiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cirilo Porfiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Edelmiro Hurko made a huge save. In the 33rd match minute, Ortigol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynaldo Dino to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in E.T.D.'s zone, Cirilo Porfiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edelmiro Hurko came out of the goal and Cirilo Porfiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Inocencio Erlantz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ortigol's supporters rose to their feet, but Inocencio Erlantz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edelmiro Hurko breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Vicente Platon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edelmiro Hurko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inocencio Erlantz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cirilo Porfiro in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edelmiro Hurko prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Benito Abella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Edelmiro Hurko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edelmiro Hurko stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cirilo Porfiro's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. In the 69th minute Cirilo Porfiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edelmiro Hurko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. E.T.D.'s Edelmiro Hurko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Etxepare in the 73rd minute of play. When Rafael Etxepare came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ortigol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Etxepare couldn't finish the play.
