Zeledon Dominic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santos Paulin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zeledon Dominic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Mikolas in the 15th minute of play. Placido Estefan kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Oscar Frasquito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Txurio in the 22nd minute of the match. Andres Txurio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of C.A.Talleres booed when Portugalete AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Madaleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Santos Paulin to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Freddy Quico during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Freddy Quico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zeledon Dominic stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santos Paulin's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Oscar Frasquito came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A.Talleres's Angelo Oliviero. But to his dismay, Angelo Oliviero quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 67th minute Andres Txurio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Frasquito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santos Paulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Dominic having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Portugalete AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Oliviero came free, but Oscar Frasquito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 77 minutes, Andres Txurio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Talleres's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andres Txurio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 79th minute of the game. One of C.A.Talleres:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Portugalete AFC:s goal. Zeledon Dominic made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guillermo Mikolas in the 83rd minute. Santos Paulin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeledon Dominic having to interfere. If Santos Paulin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A.Talleres's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
