After 9 played minutes Esperanza got a freekick which was hit by Ramon Quinito. Maximiliano Fonda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Rey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 15 played minutes Esperanza got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Sanson. After a defensive mix-up in Esperanza's zone, Jairo Rivas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavio Francesco came out of the goal and Jairo Rivas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisito Rivas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 24th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Atilano Jobo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Maximiliano Fonda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esperanza's Baldomero Nataniel suffered a concussion after 40 minutes and had to leave the field. Denis Maureo charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Denis Maureo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Denis Maureo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Luisito Rivas sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Marionetas Magicas F.C's Maximiliano Fonda didn't even have to move. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ambrosio Aznar made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Marionetas Magicas F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Atilano Jobo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Angel Abadia hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the match, Marionetas Magicas F.C's goalkeeper Maximiliano Fonda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Isaac Sanson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atilano Jobo got free with Maximiliano Fonda in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Marionetas Magicas F.C's goalkeeper Maximiliano Fonda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Atilano Jobo. When Atilano Jobo came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Esperanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atilano Jobo couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, Aurelio Nataniel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Jairo Rivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Atilano Jobo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Esperanza fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atilano Jobo couldn't finish the play. Astor Rey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Maximiliano Fonda made a huge save. Ramon Quinito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximiliano Fonda having to interfere. The Marionetas Magicas F.C fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esperanza were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
