The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nico Lembeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emilio Mazuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesus Harri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jesus Harri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Romulo Loco fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los caseros's protests and gave Romulo Loco a yellow card for diving instead. Jesus Harri might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elpidio Banegas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jesus Harri ran back to his position shaking his head. Elpidio Banegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jesus Harri, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 24th minute, Jesus Harri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlas FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Elpidio Banegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesus Harri in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Jesus Harri who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los caseros's Elpidio Banegas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Emilio Mazuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nico Lembeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Mazuste was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Los caseros's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Martin Sugoi kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. When Luis Ihazintu came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Los caseros fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Ihazintu couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emilio Efraim during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 48th minute, Luis Ihazintu fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luis Ihazintu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Atlas FC's Martin Sugoi got a free kick in the 54th minute. Nico Lembeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Ihazintu, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Benigno Lauren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Nico Lembeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st match minute, Los caseros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Musko to maneuver through the defense. Roman Chumo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Atlas FC booed when Los caseros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Faron didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Luis Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, Atlas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Ihazintu came free, but Nico Lembeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Los caseros's goalkeeper Elpidio Banegas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roman Chumo. Victor Musko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
