Toba's Silverio Columbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Unai in the 5th minute of play. Baltasar Llorienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Eduardo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of ACF Palermo booed when Toba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Toba defense, Guido Betadur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silverio Columbo. The Toba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silverio Columbo should have stopped the shot. Guido Betadur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18th match minute, Toba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Ekaitz to maneuver through the defense. When Domingo Unai came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the ACF Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingo Unai couldn't finish the play. Silverio Columbo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Otsando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingo Unai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Columbo having to interfere. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baltasar Llorienzo to make the kick off. Tomás Otsando's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silverio Columbo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play.
