After a rather tough play, ACF Palermo's Roberto Gaitan got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When Talleres's Arnulfo Estebano in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ACF Palermo's goalie prevented a goal. 6 minutes into the match, ACF Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Estebano came free, but Eduardo Stephen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonzalo Bilbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Eduardo Stephen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Otsando hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Arnulfo Estebano sped through ACF Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Eduardo Stephen. Arnulfo Estebano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. When Guido Betadur came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the ACF Palermo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Betadur couldn't finish the play. 26 minutes into the game, Gonzalo Bilbo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Eduardo Stephen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Talleres's Lino Caitano got control of the ball when Guido Betadur tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Domingo Unai had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 37 played minutes Talleres got a freekick which was hit by Herminio Lico. Talleres's Lino Caitano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Talleres from getting a goal against them. In the 39th minute, Herminio Lico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, ACF Palermo's Domingo Unai ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lino Caitano. Lino Caitano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herminio Lico during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th minute, Herminio Lico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingo Unai scored 2-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Caitano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domingo Unai to make the kick off. Rene Tipi kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Arnulfo Estebano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Stephen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. If Guido Betadur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Talleres booed when ACF Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomero Ceandro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Talleres's Bernardino Stanislao couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for ACF Palermo. 88 minutes into the game, one of Talleres:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave ACF Palermo a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Melchor Tabor, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Talleres's Lino Caitano. 3-3. Domingo Unai scored 4-3 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Caitano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Talleres getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Herminio Lico hit a great ball. In the 99th minute, Domingo Unai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Talleres's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
