Severino Maureo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Ernesto Burutzagi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Bologna FC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Filomeno Palban hit a great ball. In the 18th match minute, Horquilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Naldo to maneuver through the defense. When Everardo Gilesindo came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Bologna FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Everardo Gilesindo couldn't finish the play. After 22 minutes, Fulgencio Naldo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Horquilla and the Bologna FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Leonides Cefero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Aristides Marin came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Horquilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristides Marin couldn't finish the play. After 28 played minutes Horquilla got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Fidele. In the 32nd minute Aristides Marin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Burutzagi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Filomeno Palban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Efrain Rufio kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Eulalio Umbruso charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eulalio Umbruso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Horquilla got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Umbruso. In the 43rd minute Horquilla were awarded a corner. Anselmo Estevez went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Horquilla's Anselmo Estevez to fire away a dangerous shot which Ernesto Burutzagi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match, Aristides Marin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ernesto Burutzagi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ernesto Burutzagi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Marin, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice moves Desiderio Montxo could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Cosme Henric however easily saved by the left post. In the 56th minute, Mauro Federigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severino Maureo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Bologna FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Romulo Inguma hit a great ball. After having played for 77 minutes, Severino Maureo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horquilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severino Maureo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 82 minutes into the game, Silvio Fidele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Horquilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bologna FC the free kick. After 82 played minutes Horquilla got a freekick which was hit by Silvio Fidele. Leonides Cefero hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Ernesto Burutzagi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Marin, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bologna FC's zone, Severino Maureo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Burutzagi came out of the goal and Severino Maureo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernesto Burutzagi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fulgencio Naldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aristides Marin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Burutzagi having to interfere. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
