The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the match, Atlanta United's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Dimo came free, but Francisco Diegotxe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Simon Dimo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Francisco Diegotxe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leo Otsoko struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Francisco Diegotxe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CamaroncitoFC. Baltasar Lesardo hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The supporters of CamaroncitoFC booed when Atlanta United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Matro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Diegotxe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Dimo in the 28th minute of the match. Elpidio Ganix made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruperto Tirso in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Apolo Checa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Damaso Lano in the 32nd minute really tested Elpidio Ganix's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Ruperto Tirso came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Atlanta United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Tirso couldn't finish the play. Simon Dimo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Diegotxe having to interfere. Leo Otsoko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Atlanta United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CamaroncitoFC were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leo Otsoko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Elpidio Ganix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruperto Tirso, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. If Simon Dimo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 55th minute of the match Everardo Henrico shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elpidio Ganix showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Atlanta United's zone, Simon Dimo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Diegotxe came out of the goal and Simon Dimo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Atlanta United getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Leandro Segio hit a great ball. CamaroncitoFC's Elpidio Ganix played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Tirso in the 73rd minute of play. Elpidio Ganix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruperto Tirso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Damian Cordeal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Ganix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, CamaroncitoFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Tirso came free, but Elpidio Ganix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Damian Cordeal took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elpidio Ganix. Elpidio Ganix dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
