A collision led to C A Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Sixto Kepa hit a great ball. Erasmo Abeita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Saul Pello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Elpidio Senen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 21 played minutes C A Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Hilario Senio. Saul Pello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Elpidio Senen made a huge save. Joel Selmo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gogo Bizen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Senen having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Hilario Senio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonzalo Romo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erasmo Ulizes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Erasmo Ulizes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Selmo in the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Erasmo Ulizes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luis Min hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. When Everardo Kauldi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. Everardo Kauldi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After 63 minutes, Joel Selmo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C A Boca Juniors and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes C A Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Joel Selmo. 65 minutes into the match, C A Boca Juniors's Joel Selmo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erasmo Ulizes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gonzalo Romo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gilberto Eguntsenti hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Gonzalo Romo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Ulizes having to interfere. Saul Pello struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Elpidio Senen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. Saul Pello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Elpidio Senen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 85th minute of the match Joel Selmo completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joel Selmo a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when C A Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Selmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's Cecilio Vela broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
