Spectators: 7371 (Terracing: 5529, Seating: 1695, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Antonio Ekain got the match started through his kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardo Stanislao in the 3rd minute of play forced Menconi FC's goalkeeper Marcelino Mincho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristo Guzman's late challenge caught a Gorilas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cristo Guzman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 5th match minute, Menconi FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristo Guzman to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Ekain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Mincho having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Gorilas's Luis Oriche got a free kick in the 15th minute. Ricardo Stanislao recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Menconi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Brais came free, but Marcelino Mincho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With 24 minutes on the clock, Bruno Bernaldo commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 24th minute, one of Gorilas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gorilas. Cristo Guzman walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 28thth minute of the game Amancio Quirce who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorilas's Eustacio Reynardo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Gorilas's Eustacio Reynardo got control of the ball when Moises Petri tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcelino Mincho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Brais in the 31st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Menconi FC's Cristo Guzman got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The supporters of Menconi FC booed when Gorilas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Oriche didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Cefero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Eustacio Reynardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Gorilas getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Luis Oriche hit a great ball. Gorilas's Eustacio Reynardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Cefero in the 41st minute of play. Fabian Brais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fabian Brais fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelino Mincho having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruno Urdaspal made a kick off. Fabian Brais struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Marcelino Mincho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gorilas. Bruno Urdaspal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eustacio Reynardo having to interfere. Mauricio Gai placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a rather tough play, Gorilas's Niceto Lopez got a free kick in the 59th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Gorilas's zone, Amancio Quirce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustacio Reynardo came out of the goal and Amancio Quirce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moises Petri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Menconi FC's zone, Niceto Lopez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelino Mincho came out of the goal and Niceto Lopez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amancio Quirce charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Amancio Quirce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Amancio Quirce kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 73 minutes, Bruno Urdaspal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Menconi FC and the Gorilas players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Bruno Urdaspal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute, Leonardo Sugoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gorilas's Eustacio Reynardo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Cefero in the 81st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Jeronimo Escobar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Menconi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeronimo Escobar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eustacio Reynardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jeronimo Escobar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felipe Cefero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felipe Cefero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eustacio Reynardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 98th minute of play.
