If David Berriotxoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Teofilo Aurre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caseros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Aurre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froilan Argina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Berriotxoa in the 24th minute of the match. In the 35th minute David Berriotxoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Argina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristobal Koldo got free with Nicolas Guipuzkoa in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Teofilo Aurre made the kick off in the second half. Nicolas Guipuzkoa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Honesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After 61 played minutes FC Schalke 04 got a freekick which was hit by Albino Ezkerra. Nicolas Guipuzkoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristobal Koldo in the 64th minute of the match. Teofilo Aurre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Froilan Argina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Nicolas Guipuzkoa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristobal Koldo went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. David Berriotxoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Froilan Argina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Froilan Argina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Berriotxoa. Nicolas Guipuzkoa came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Schalke 04's Ezequiel Honesto. But to his dismay, Ezequiel Honesto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 82 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Honesto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Nicolas Guipuzkoa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Caseros defense, Ezequiel Honesto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicolas Guipuzkoa. The Caseros fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicolas Guipuzkoa should have stopped the shot. Cristobal Koldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolas Guipuzkoa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristobal Koldo ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Schalke 04's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
