Caseros's David Berriotxoa got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th match minute, FC Schalke 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Ezkerra to maneuver through the defense. David Berriotxoas short, quick shot in the 22ndth minute got Froilan Argina to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ezequiel Honesto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Nicolas Guipuzkoa came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Schalke 04's Cristobal Koldo. But to his dismay, Cristobal Koldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The Caseros players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Schalke 04 were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ezequiel Honesto made a kick off. Nicolas Guipuzkoa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Honesto in the 57th minute of the match. Froilan Argina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teofilo Aurre, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Nicolas Guipuzkoa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Honesto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Victorio Regis fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
