Gavino Umbruso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ermegildo Gorri in the 7th minute. Nicasio Ugaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gavino Umbruso having to interfere. 11 minutes into the match, Ovara's goalkeeper Gavino Umbruso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ermegildo Gorri. Ermegildo Gorri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gavino Umbruso having to make a save. 16 minutes into the game, Florentino Seguinus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ovara the free kick. Gavino Umbruso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ermegildo Gorri in the 24th minute of play. Sixto Montrell struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Fernan Jaunti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ovara. Baldomero Manilan hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th match minute, Ovara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cecilio Iban to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Ermegildo Gorri got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gavino Umbruso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hermengildo Bastia, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. When Nicasio Ugaitz came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Ugaitz couldn't finish the play. Fernan Jaunti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benito Selmo in the 43rd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Fernan Jaunti was a little too slow when Sixto Montrell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 59th minute. The score was now 0-1. A collision led to Ovara getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Damaso Quirce hit a great ball. Ermegildo Gorri struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Gavino Umbruso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. In the 69th minute, Gustavo Urtun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ovara's Gavino Umbruso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Gorri in the 70th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Benito Selmo notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Independiente's Fernan Jaunti. Fernan Jaunti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The attack was good, but when Ermegildo Gorri in the 78th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After a rather tough play, Ovara's Bernardo Lugo got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute Ermegildo Gorri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gavino Umbruso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Selmo charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benito Selmo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 95 played minutes Ovara got a freekick which was hit by Benito Selmo.
