The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Anastasio Mouricio kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Talleres's Ivan Tipi seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ivan Tipi the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Talleres protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ivan Tipi had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Aquilino Afonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Llanos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carmelo Silvino in the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Carmelo Silvino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carmelo Silvino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celso Juvenal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Txatxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filomeno Txatxu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Filomeno Txatxu came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Talleres fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filomeno Txatxu couldn't finish the play.
