Spectators: 6970 (Terracing: 5300, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Joel Mark started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Chimbas AFC booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dante Eladio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Mark in the 6th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Independiente's Dionisio Macario got a free kick in the 9th minute. After some careless play in the Chimbas AFC defense, Primitivo Gagriel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oscar Orlin. The Chimbas AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oscar Orlin should have stopped the shot. Romeo Felipo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Oscar Orlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Chimbas AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Romeo Felipo came free, but Oscar Orlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute Joel Mark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Eladio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Filiberto Berbiz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Eladio firmly grabbed it by the left post. 34 minutes into the match, Independiente's goalkeeper Dante Eladio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filiberto Berbiz. After 39 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Dionisio Macario. If Joel Mark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Primitivo Gagriel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Oscar Orlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Filiberto Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeo Felipo was the one to do the kick off. Dionisio Macario kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Joel Mark scored 1-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Eladio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Filiberto Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Independiente's Primitivo Gagriel came free and shot a quick shot against goal 62 minutes in the game, fortunately Oscar Orlin had problems saving as it came toward the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Mark in the 63rd minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Dante Eladio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 66 minutes into the match, Chimbas AFC's Joel Mark sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Eladio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67th minute of the game, Gualterio Monico landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dionisio Macario during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th minute, Dionisio Macario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Primitivo Gagriel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute Amadeo Estefan suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Igor Anaya fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chimbas AFC's protests and gave Igor Anaya a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th minute, Igor Anaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Orlin was a little too slow when Romeo Felipo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 1-2. Romeo Felipo struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Oscar Orlin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. If Romeo Felipo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dionisio Macario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Oscar Orlin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Independiente players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Chimbas AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
