Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Quinteros came free, but Eulalio Jayvier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eulalio Jayvier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Quinteros in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to La FRAGATA de Casanova getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Severiano Peter hit a great ball. Melquiades Cordera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carolo Lordi having to interfere. If Melquiades Cordera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Victor Nayely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeronimo Magdaleno struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Carolo Lordi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Jeronimo Magdaleno put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Carolo Lordi. In the 72nd minute Melquiades Cordera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carolo Lordi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carolo Lordi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Melquiades Cordera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Independiente were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
