A collision led to Liverpool FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Baldomero Nabar hit a great ball. Lázaro Montay's late challenge caught a Liverpool FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lázaro Montay helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Liverpool FC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Leo Estevez, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Independiente's Eulalio Jayvier. 0-1. Independiente's Eulalio Jayvier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Saverio Oier in the 31st minute of play. If Honorio Dominix had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Cordera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eulalio Chabier having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Cristo George. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Vitin in the 46th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Eulalio Jayvier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Independiente players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Liverpool FC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Melquiades Cordera to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Vitin in the 52nd minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Eulalio Jayvier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeronimo Magdaleno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saverio Oier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Eulalio Jayvier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Uriel Itzaina charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Although Independiente had been in control for most of the match, Liverpool FC still came away with the win.
