The crowd rose to their feet as República FC's Humberto Javiero slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Leonel Ricart. That made the score 1-0 after 26 minutes of play. Leonel Ricart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Cugat in the 30th minute of play. Lucas Cugat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonel Ricart having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Teobaldo Iago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maximino Cesaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Cugat made a kick off.
