Chelsea FC's Maximino Shantala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benicio Rius in the 34th minute of play. When Tomás Fresco fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velez Manda's protests and gave Tomás Fresco a yellow card for diving instead. After 37 played minutes Velez Manda got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Fresco. Gogo Nazario in the 41stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Atilano Chinto, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the Chelsea FC defense, Serafin Hibai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maximino Shantala. The Chelsea FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maximino Shantala should have stopped the shot.

To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Inocencio Erroman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chelsea FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Inocencio Erroman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Chelsea FC's Maximino Shantala got control of the ball when Leon Abella tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Velez Manda players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
