With a left leg Severo Maura saved Ave Fénix FC from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Ave Fénix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iván De la Peña came free, but Severo Maura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Ave Fénix FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximiliano Lobo to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute of the match Flavio Artaldo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Severo Maura skillfully saved the ball. Severo Maura came out of the goal and Iván De la Peña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Iván De la Peña sped through Ave Fénix FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Severo Maura. Jose Aimar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Severo Maura having to make a save. Severo Maura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iván De la Peña, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Iván De la Peña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Maura having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute of the match, Iván De la Peña tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Severo Maura saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Severo Maura didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iván De la Peña went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iván De la Peña in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Severo Maura prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose Aimar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Severo Maura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Jose Aimar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severo Maura was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. The Victor F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 72nd match minute when Victor F.C.'s Iván De la Peña looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-10 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Severo Maura stood somewhat misplaced when Iván De la Peña came free in front of goal and shot 0-11 to the left of him in the 75 minute. The audience was convinced that Iván De la Peña's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Severo Maura was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Chico in the 86th minute of play forced Victor F.C.'s goalkeeper Angel Mancio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Jose Aimar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Severo Maura. Ave Fénix FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jose Aimar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-13. Ave Fénix FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Maximo Arce 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-14. Victor F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
