Teodosio Nataniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Osmundo having to interfere. After having played for 16 minutes, Ivan Eguerdi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivan Eguerdi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Danilo Mendebal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nequen's Teodosio Nataniel got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Andres Figueroa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clemente Hermelando having to make a save. If Teodosio Nataniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspar Remir stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rigoberto Matteo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clemente Hermelando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Eguerdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Gaspar Remir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Ambrosio Raulo fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nequen's protests and gave Ambrosio Raulo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Nequen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ambrosio Raulo to maneuver through the defense. When independiente's Ivan Eguerdi in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
