The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 17 minutes of play, Club Independiente Pigüé's Joel Kimetz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Chago was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ezequiel Martxelin charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ezequiel Martxelin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ezequiel Martxelin kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Ricardo Chago stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Kimetz's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Joel Kimetz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ricardo Chago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 27 minutes of play, Club Independiente Pigüé's Javier Sabino made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Chago was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Club Independiente Pigüé's Joel Kimetz in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Yaví's goalie prevented a goal. Romeo Ritchie came out and tried to block the shot, but Cleto Tancredo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 45th minute. After the first half Club Independiente Pigüé were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cleto Tancredo to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Independiente Pigüé's goalkeeper Romeo Ritchie, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Kimetz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ricardo Chago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Independiente Pigüé's Hermengildo Eutor got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermengildo Eutor struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Ricardo Chago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Independiente Pigüé. Joel Kimetz took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Chago. Ricardo Chago dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. If Eustaquio Jordy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yaví's Ricardo Chago proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Yaví from getting a goal against them. Artemio Faro's late challenge caught a Club Independiente Pigüé's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Artemio Faro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 86th match minute, Yaví was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artemio Faro to maneuver through the defense. Joel Kimetz in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardo Chago, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 90 minutes into the game, Joel Kimetz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ricardo Chago. Joel Kimetz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. In the 95th minute, Filomeno Ferdinand ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Romeo Ritchie was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-7.
