In the 11th minute Fausto Benino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Maties saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. AZ Alkmaar's Saul Beltxe got his second yellow card of the match in the 15th minute. The referee ordered Saul Beltxe off the ground. In the 16th match minute, AZ Alkmaar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul Beltxe to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Damario ran back to his position shaking his head. Guaberto Maties showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Benino, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. If Fausto Benino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Samuel Damario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 played minutes Club Atlético Abasto got a freekick which was hit by Godfredo Darien. After a defensive mix-up in AZ Alkmaar's zone, Fausto Benino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Maties came out of the goal and Fausto Benino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The wind increased when Samuel Damario made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Fausto Benino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Guaberto Maties, 0-1. Fausto Benino might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guaberto Maties. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fausto Benino ran back to his position shaking his head. Guaberto Maties was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Samuel Damario showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 62 minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Samuel Damario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Atlético Abasto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Damario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Club Atlético Abasto's Samuel Damario was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 68th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 73rd minute, Abel Segio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of AZ Alkmaar booed when Club Atlético Abasto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Erroman didn't get a good kick on the ball.
