In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lagunilla AFC's goalkeeper Emilio Vellito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esteban Kitov's late challenge caught a Lagunilla AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Esteban Kitov helped the player get up and apologised. Lagunilla AFC's Emilio Vellito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Toribio in the 25th minute of play. A collision led to Lagunilla AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Americo Fagondo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godfredo Fix got free with Emilio Vellito in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Godfredo Fix came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Public Image Limited fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Godfredo Fix couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Public Image Limited's Esteban Kitov got a free kick in the 34th minute. Justino Toribio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Public Image Limited's Justino Toribio got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ciro Gomesano was the one to do the kick off. If Justino Toribio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfredo Fix struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Emilio Vellito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Public Image Limited. Baldomiro Txomin's late challenge caught a Public Image Limited's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baldomiro Txomin helped the player get up and apologised. Baldomiro Txomin kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. If Justino Toribio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Vellito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godfredo Fix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 79 minutes of play, Public Image Limited's Godfredo Fix made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Emilio Vellito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ciro Gomesano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Public Image Limited's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
