After 4 minutes, Lorenzo Selmo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maxibe and the Comunidad de Pituseros players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Comunidad de Pituseros booed when Maxibe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Selmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Norberto Esquipula sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 11 minutes into the game, when Adrian Frances put in a rough tackle. 10 minutes into the game, one of Maxibe:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After 23 played minutes Comunidad de Pituseros got a freekick which was hit by Emiliano Laurentzi. Eulalio Froila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Feliberto Lluques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eustaquio Gaueko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Maxibe's Eustaquio Gaueko in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Comunidad de Pituseros's goalie prevented a goal. Comunidad de Pituseros's Feliberto Lluques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eustaquio Gaueko in the 37th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Eustaquio Gaueko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maxibe's supporters rose to their feet, but Eustaquio Gaueko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Feliberto Lluques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lisandro Orkatz struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Feliberto Lluques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maxibe. 44 minutes into the match, Maxibe's goal looked a bit too open when Carolo Oton came free, but Hilario Venceslao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carolo Oton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 53rd minute of the match Maxibe got a corner. Comunidad de Pituseros's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jacinto Garaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Emiliano Laurentzi tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Feliberto Lluques. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 54th minute. In the 59th play minute Eustaquio Gaueko came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Feliberto Lluques. 1-2. If Norberto Esquipula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Maxibe! 71 minutes into the match, Maxibe's goal looked a bit too open when Norberto Esquipula came free, but Hilario Venceslao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Feliberto Lluques managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Maxibe's Eustaquio Gaueko fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Carolo Oton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eustaquio Gaueko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Feliberto Lluques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maxibe's Eustaquio Gaueko got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Maxibe's Emilio Sotero got a free kick in the 97th minute. Comunidad de Pituseros succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Maxibe had controlled the match.
