When Guaberto Chico fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Constanza FC's protests and gave Guaberto Chico a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Constanza FC got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Chico. 12 minutes into the game, Dalmacio Chale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rosario Central's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Constanza FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rosario Central fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! In the 17th minute Sergio Henrico shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Elixio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Arnoldo Javiero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Constanza FC booed when Rosario Central was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcial Aimar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marciano Beat made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Marcos Camerino sent off a good shot on target. Marciano Sendoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Marciano Beat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcos Camerino might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marciano Beat. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcos Camerino ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcial Aimar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marciano Beat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Marciano Beat showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marciano Sendoa in the 42nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Marcial Aimar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rosario Central's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcial Aimar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marciano Beat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Rosario Central players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Constanza FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcos Camerino to make the kick off. Marcial Aimar hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the game, Marcial Aimar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Marciano Beat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Camerino in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marciano Beat prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marcial Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marciano Beat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marciano Sendoa, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Constanza FC's zone, Eloy Chago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marciano Beat came out of the goal and Eloy Chago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dalmacio Chale took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marciano Beat. Constanza FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rosario Central's Marcial Aimar got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcos Camerino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marciano Sendoa struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Marciano Beat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. A collision led to Constanza FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Domingo Leoiar hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Rosario Central were the better team. Rosario Central's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
