Spectators: 7323 (Terracing: 5494, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) Veritas's Wilfredo Jatsu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Teodoro Herena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Vergaray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Odol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Hilario Vergaray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Epifanio Seber who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 9thth minute tested the skills of Primitivo Garin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Teodoro Herena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 14th match minute, LUQUERO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Thomas to maneuver through the defense. Roman Odol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Vergaray having to interfere. In the 21st minute of the match, Wilfredo Jatsu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Primitivo Garin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Amancio Velasco struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Hilario Vergaray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUQUERO. Braulio Fonso's late challenge caught a LUQUERO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Braulio Fonso helped the player get up and apologised. Placido Beltza hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After 40 minutes of play, LUQUERO's Roman Odol made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hilario Vergaray was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Veritas getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Mario Unai hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Teodoro Herena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Vergaray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Veritas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. LUQUERO were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Herena to make the kick off. The supporters of LUQUERO booed when Veritas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio Quin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Veritas's zone, Teodoro Herena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilario Vergaray came out of the goal and Teodoro Herena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leon Shepherd charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leon Shepherd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wilfredo Jatsu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Primitivo Garin saved LUQUERO from getting behind. Albino Frascuelo kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Veritas's zone, Teodoro Herena stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilario Vergaray came out of the goal and Teodoro Herena tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. LUQUERO's Primitivo Garin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilfredo Jatsu in the 87th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teodoro Herena got free with Hilario Vergaray in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the LUQUERO players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
