The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 26th minute Jeronimo Paez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Ubendu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Ubendu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Oskarbi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Oskarbi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodrigo Ubendu came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Los de Siempre f.c.'s Jeronimo Paez. But to his dismay, Jeronimo Paez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Nestor Unai who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Isidro Sayveon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Jeronimo Paez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodrigo Ubendu was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Excursionistas's zone, Eugenio Oskarbi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Ubendu came out of the goal and Eugenio Oskarbi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeronimo Paez made a kick off. In the 51st minute of the match Generoso Arnau shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Isidro Sayveon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Manuel Otsoko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jeronimo Paez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Rodrigo Ubendu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Ubendu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimo Paez, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Angelo Etor hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Anacleto Joachim scored 1-2 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Isidro Sayveon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Los de Siempre f.c. booed when Excursionistas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Otsoko didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute of the match, Jeronimo Paez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rodrigo Ubendu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Isidro Sayveon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anacleto Joachim, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 84th minute, Los de Siempre f.c.'s Jeronimo Paez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Anacleto Joachim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Sayveon having to interfere. The Los de Siempre f.c. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Los de Siempre f.c. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
