Berazategui FC's Benedicto Prejun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Ubarna in the 12th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Leandro Hever's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benedicto Prejun was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. After 47 played minutes Gimnasia y Tiro got a freekick which was hit by Sergio Bladi. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a little luck, Berazategui FC's Benedicto Prejun got control of the ball when Leandro Hever tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fausto Oliveiro's late challenge caught a Gimnasia y Tiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fausto Oliveiro helped the player get up and apologised. 95 minutes into the match, Gimnasia y Tiro's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Oliveiro came free, but Teofilo Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
