Wincent Frodyma came out and tried to block the shot, but Leandro Hever slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 23rd minute. Teofilo Estavan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luciano Johans's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Melquiades Fliz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofilo Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Gimnasia y Tiro booed when Guido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Fliz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wincent Frodyma made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Leandro Hever sent off a good shot on target. Wincent Frodyma made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leandro Hever in the 44th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leandro Hever was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Guido getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Bernabe Segio hit a great ball. Fausto Rosalio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wincent Frodyma. Guido's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Leandro Hever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Gimnasia y Tiro had played much better football throughout.
