Anastasio Sauveur took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnulfo Jordy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes, Gonzalo Fidele mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BUENOS AIRES F. C. and the Monte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Monte FC booed when BUENOS AIRES F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Fidele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anastasio Sauveur acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 38th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Bernabe Roldan. After a rather tough play, BUENOS AIRES F. C.'s Federico Olayo got a free kick in the 39th minute. Anastasio Sauveur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Jordy in the 40th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnulfo Jordy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Arnulfo Jordy left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monte FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. If Arnulfo Jordy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andres Monico's late challenge caught a Monte FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andres Monico helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to BUENOS AIRES F. C. getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Andres Monico hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Arnulfo Jordy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anastasio Sauveur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximino Astrada in the 85th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the game, Mariano Abeitia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Monte FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BUENOS AIRES F. C. the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Monte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Abeitia to maneuver through the defense. Anastasio Sauveur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Vistruario in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 95th minute by Aureliano Gutierrez got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
