In the 16th minute Cristo Guipuzkoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artemio Confesor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Enrique Liher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Vincent. Ordoqui FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Enrique Liher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 25th minute, Enrique Liher ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zacarias Vincent was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Artemio Confesor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Severiano Lizbeth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 87 minutes, Enrique Liher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortuna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enrique Liher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrique Liher got free with Zacarias Vincent in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fortuna's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
