Starship Troopers's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnoldo Gartxot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmelo Darien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Epifanio Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeo Giraldo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Epifanio Demesio struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Silvestre Oso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luján FC. The referee ignored Starship Troopers's protests and gave Romeo Giraldo a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes, Luján FC's Jeronimo Eate shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Silvestre Oso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Luján FC reached it. If Epifanio Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romeo Giraldo was the one to do the kick off. If Epifanio Demesio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvestre Oso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Celestino Joseph in the 91st minute. Celestino Joseph sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Starship Troopers manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Luján FC to win.
